HUNGARIAN VIZSLA CLUB OF NSW - LATEST OUTINGS

2009
Colo River Picnic
The Colo River was perfect again - sun, sand and warm water.
Some people came to look at Vizslas and decide if they really wanted one
and boy did they see a cross section. There were dogs there who
had been born in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania and a couple of
Wirehaired puppies that have just come from the UK. It's a great
opportunity for people to see just how energetic Vizslas can be, you
don't see that at a show. And Siri showed them that Vizslas can be
naughty, too. Thanks Siri. Those young dogs taught her a
thing or two, though, it was amazing to see her decide, for the first
time I think, that she really needed a rest. Lunch was relatively
peaceful with most of the dogs choosing to have a nap (well - to lie
down anyway) but I'll bet that they had a nap on the way home.
It was wonderful to see Billy who was a rescue who had a very bad start
so was great to see him healthy, happy and beautifully behaved.
2009 Urriara Picnic
There were plenty of dogs and water, all had a great time
swimming and retrieving sticks, balls, dummies and various toys - those
boys can swim fast and a certain GSP (Polo) jumps so far out that nobody
else has a chance! Two of the boys had come all the way from the
US but they enjoyed themselves so much they decided to stay in
Australia.
Several people brought young Vizslas that we haven't met before and
sadly, there were some empty spaces where we have lost old friends.
The dogs had the right idea though, don't think just party, party,
party.
And there was food.
Bouma's chicken and linseed biscuits - they melt in the dogs' mouths so
there is nothing left to argue about. It was the first Vizsla
picnic for a couple of puppies but they reckon they will be back now
they've mastered the swimming. Sabre showed us how very gentle he
can be with puppies.
2009
Western Australian Picnic
For many years now, WA Vizsla owners, many of them HVCNSW
members have been having their own Vizsla picnic (WA has no breed Club).
Despite the windy conditions,
we had a pretty good turn out to our picnic, including a number of
'first-timers'. It was wonderful to see Zimba having such a great
time at her first picnic, and we also got to meet WA's first Wirehaird
puppy, the georgeous Freddie.
