HUNGARIAN VIZSLAS NEEDING HOMES

There are often Vizslas looking for new homes.  Some are very genuine cases of family situation changes. Others have never been in the right home, and now need some help to adjust and learn the rules.  Some are a bit older than people generally want to adopt, feeling they will not have these dogs for very long and that they are too old to adapt to a new life.  Wrong!  Some of our most successful re-homes or rescues have been aged five plus!  So, if you know of a good home that may be right for an older Vizsla, or if you think you might like a second Vizsla, without the puppy period, contact Ros Leighton and she will put you in touch with the current owners of these dogs.

NOTE:  The HVC of NSW Inc. cannot recommend any of these dogs – we have not seen most of them and are relying solely on the information provided by the owners.  We advise you to take the time to fully investigate these dogs and if you are interested in adopting one, perhaps negotiate a trial period with the current owners.

HUGO IS NOW IN A TRIAL HOME

Hugo is an 11 year old Hugo is in need of a new home as soon as possible. He does not have any major health or personality issues, but is not coping with a newly mobile child in the home. He is good with older children – over the age of 4 – but would possibly be most suited to a retired person or couple who will have lots of time to spend with him.

His owner says he’s good with other dogs and quite well mannered, though he’s not nearly as interested in other animals as he is in people. He’s great indoors and his special sweet thing is that he will moan and contort himself into very unusual shapes if you get the right spot on his neck or head.

We think that Hugo could be a great companion for his remaining years and hope that someone will be prepared to give him a go.

Please contact Ros
