HUNGARIAN VIZSLA CLUB OF NSW - TRACKING INFORMATION
There has been a steady increase in the interest in Tracking Trials over
the last few years. This sport appeals to many with a wide variety of
breeds competing. 'Metropolitan' tracking can be difficult at the best of times. Finding grounds to train and conduct trials within a reasonable distance of metropolitan areas is difficult. Tracking standards are high. As a small Club, the HVC of NSW is lucky to have the support of 'mainstream' tracking groups such as NSW Tracking & Rescue Club who assist with such things as finding and booking grounds and we also receive very 'material' help from non-gundog owning members of the tracking fraternity who add their experience and expertise to our own to help conduct the trials. Tracking is an intensive dog sport needing commitment and application. There are always 'stalwarts' who give their weekends to tracking for most of the Winter months. The HVC of NSW holds an annual Tracking Trial and Tracking Workshop. So - what is Tracking ???? Can I do it too ????
But - it is fun, exhilarating, exciting and rewarding - for you and your Vizsla !!! There is a fairly dedicated band of Vizsla tracking enthusiasts and Vizslas have had great success in Tracking. It is a Winter sport but preparation can be started in the warmer months if you have a safe place to train (safe - mainly means NO snakes)!
It is very helpful for us to have some idea of numbers of people who may be interested. |
